I am honored to be awarded third place for one of my photographs!

This week, SATW unveiled the winners of the 8th Annual Canadian Chapter Awards, celebrating the best of Canadian travel journalism. I won a bronze medal in the category of Best Photography: People for my image, “Annabelle takes us inside the Shaman’s house at the Viking Farm located in Avaldsnes, Norway: Life’s Incredible Journey.”

The photo appears in my story about my visit. The road trip to Avaldsnes was not a planned stop on a weekend trip to Stavanger from Bergen, but once I discovered the area’s profound significance in Viking history and Norway, I had to explore.

Avaldsnes is a treasure trove of significant archaeological finds and served as a power hub for kings and chieftains for over 3,000 years, from the Bronze Age into the Viking era.
